8 Ways Business Leaders Can Beat Stress

For Business Leaders, Stress Is Inevitable
As business leaders, we commit to achieving aggressive goals. Our resources are at capacity
yet there’s more work to do.  Getting all the required resources together for important discussions
that lead to key decisions is re-scheduled again and again, delaying progress.  External conditions
change and knock our action plans off track.  Sales are below forecast, which reduces funding for
projects that make good business sense but are now delayed.  Or sales are way above forecast
which pours gasoline on the fire that is the frenetic pace at which business leaders tend to operate.
Breaking the stress cycle is critical.  When we’re over-stressed our performance suffers.  We make
hasty, suboptimal decision.  Over-stressed people experience headaches, stomach aches, are tired,
or just don’t feel well.  And staying too stressed for too long can increase the health concerns, from
irritable bowel syndrome to long-term issues like heart disease or cancer.  You might say your life
depends on reducing stress.
East to say, but what if all the business problems are still present?  While it would be nice if the
challenges took care of themselves the chance that you, as a business leader, will need to deal with
each directly is more likely.  You’ll need to manage your stress while leading your business.
Here are some ideas that can help you control your stress.

Eight Ideas for Reducing Stress

First, remind yourself that it isn’t a situation that causes the outcome you experience, but your reaction
to the situation.  You do choose your thoughts, so choose a perspective that is more empowering for you.
Even though your thoughts may be deeply rooted, over time you can begin to shift them.
If you have a “doom and gloom” reaction to every piece of bad news that comes up you are letting it
control you.  What if you choose to believe that the situation is temporary, that you know exactly how to fix it,
and there’s a lesson for you to learn as part of the situation?  Try this and notice how your experience
and stress level changes.
Next, respect your body – get enough sleep and eat right.  Rather than burn the midnight oil each day
to battle your workload, know what your body needs for sleep and treat it right.  While you’re treating your
body right, feed it proper nutrition at regular intervals rather than relying on caffeine and junk food on the go.
Third, exercise to burn stress.  This includes walking, running, weight-lifting, biking, playing a sport, and
making love, just to name a few.  Sweat, raise your heart rate, breathe faster, then shower and get back
to your business.
Fourth, vent.  You’re frustrated, things aren’t going as planned, you’re thinking thoughts that are preoccupying
your mind and preventing you from having the clarity you need to work productively to solve problems.
These thoughts want to be heard, so give them a voice as a way to release them.
Here’s the thing – don’t vent to lots of other people.  Rather, speak your vent out loud when you’re alone,
such as when driving.  Or write in a journal.  Or vent to a close, trusted advisor and say,
“I want to vent for a minute…”  Remember, nobody likes a complainer, so don’t allow your venting to go too
far.  Vent, feel a weight being lifted, then move on.
Fifth, meditate.  Listen to a guided meditation or simply close your eyes and focus on your breathing and
your heart.  Feel gratitude for what is going right in your life.  Smile.  You can imagine your body filling
with a powerful, healing, white light or energy and feel it move through your body.  Allow yourself to simply
quiet your mind’s chatter for a few minutes, or longer if you want.
Sixth, visualize everything perfect.  When we focus on what’s not working we forget what we want to have
instead.  Get clear about having everything go perfectly as if there were no problems in the first place.
Know what this looks like and burn into your mind this perfect scene.
Seventh, get help from God.  Whether you’re religious or not, if you believe in God or a higher power,
than ask for help.  Be clear about what you want and ask specifically for it.  Expect a miracle.
Even small miracles can help you.
Eighth, enjoy the moment.  Whatever is going on right now this very moment, find a way to enjoy it.
Maybe you enjoy the people you’re working with right now.  Maybe it’s a beautiful day and you inhale
the fresh air as you walk from your car.  Maybe you heard a funny joke.  Maybe you got some good news
(some things are going right!)  Listen to a favorite song.  Call and say hello to a friend.
Or just notice what’s around you in your environment at this very moment and enjoy that.
Reducing stress is crucial to our performance as a business leader and our ability to enjoy life away from
business.  Take care of yourself by finding a few methods of lowering your stress that work for you and
appreciate that you will be a better person and performer at work and at home.

10,000 Times Stronger than Chemotherapy.

Hello!!! Just want to share this good information...........

Just cut 2-3 thin slices of lemon in a cup/containner and add drinking water. The water will become "alkaline water", drink for the whole day, just by adding drinking water. Take it as drinking water everyday is good for everybody.

The surprising benefits of lemon!

I remain perplexed!

================================

Institute of Health Sciences, 819 N. L.L.C. Charles Street Baltimore , MD 1201.
This is the latest in medicine, effective for cancer!
Read carefully & you be the judge

Lemon
(Citrus) is a miraculous product to kill cancer cells. It is 10,000 times stronger than chemoth erapy.

Why do we not know about that? Because there are laboratories interested in making a synthetic version that will bring them huge profits. You can now help a friend in need by
letting him/her know that lemon juice is beneficial in preventing the disease. Its taste is pleasant and it does not produce the horrific effects of chemotherapy. How many people will die while this closely guarded secret is kept, so as not to jeopardize the beneficial multimillionaires large corporations? As you know, the lemon tree is known for its varieties of lemons and limes. You can eat the fruit in different ways: you can eat the pulp, juice press, prepare drinks, sorbets, pastries, etc... It is credited with many virtues, but the most interesting is the effect it produces on cysts and tumors. This plant is a proven remedy against cancers of all types. Some say it is very useful in all variants of cancer . It is considered also as an anti microbial spectrum against bacterial infections and fungi, effective against internal parasites and worms, it regulates blood pressure which is too high and an antidepressant, combats stress and nervous disorders.

The source of this information is fascinating: it comes from one of the largest drug manufacturers in the world, says that after more than 20 laboratory tests since 1970, the extracts revealed that
: It destroys the malignant cells in 12 cancers
including colon, breast, prostate, lung and pancreas ... The compounds of this tree showed 10,000 times better than the product Adriamycin, a drug normally used chemotherapeutic in the world, slowing the growth of cancer cells. And what is even more astonishing: this type of therapy with lemon extract only destroys malignant cancer cells and it does not affect healthy cells.

What does 8 cups of water a day do for your digestive system?

Ann, a Los Angeles buyer for an e-commerce Web site, begins her workday by grabbing a cup of water and setting it by her computer. After she downs it, she gets up to refill it again, repeating this routine throughout the day.

It's a habit she's had for as long as she can remember, religiously following the adage that drinking at least eight cups of water a day is good for your health. "If I don't get enough, I feel like I'm depriving myself of something vital that I really need," Carpenter says.

She's right. Health-care providers say water nourishes the entire body. "Water is a life-sustaining beverage," says Leslie Bonci, a registered dietician and author of The American Dietetic Association Guide to Better Digestion. "Every organ in the body needs water."

Keeping the GI tract in fine working order

For water to get where it's needed, it must be absorbed through the gastrointestinal tract. When you drink water, it travels quickly down the esophagus, through the stomach and into the intestines, where it's partially diffused into the bloodstream, hydrating the body's cells. The kidneys and the bladder make use of some of the water, and what's left goes into the large intestine to move fecal matter.

"Water helps flush the system," says Dr. Donald F. Kirby, a gastroenterologist and chief of the nutrition section at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center in Richmond, Va. When there aren't enough fluids in the colon, patients suffer from constipation, a common gastrointestinal ailment.

And one solution to constipation — eating a diet rich in fiber, which can be found in fruits, vegetables and whole grain — can't work without adequate intake of fluids. "Fiber draws water from all sources in the body to make stools softer and easier to pass through," says Bonci.

Water may also play a role in preventing colorectal cancer. The Mayo Clinic cites a study that showed that women who drank more than five glasses of water a day had a risk of colon cancer that was 45 percent less than that of those who drank two or fewer glasses a day.

"If you're drinking enough fluids, you're moving things more efficiently and quickly so toxins won't be sitting in your gut for too long," says Bonci.

No need for eight cups?

Although long accepted as conventional wisdom, the eight-cups-a-day recommendation is now being questioned by some health-care providers. "It's not clear to me that the advice is based on medical science," says Kirby. "That's just a number that may ensure adequate hydration."

Bonci suggests that body weight may be a better gauge. "Take a third of your weight in pounds and that's how many ounces you need to drink daily," she says. A 150-pound woman, for example, will need 50 ounces, which translates to a little more than six cups of water.

Mark Glen, a registered dietitian at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., prefers to recommend anywhere from 64 ounces (8 cups) to 96 ounces (12 cups) of fluid each day. For smaller-framed patients, eight may be enough; those with a medium build can rest easy with 10, while those who are larger-framed may require up to 12 cups of fluid. You may need to drink even more on particularly hot days.

Activity level may increase requirements, too. "People who exercise will need more than the minimum," says Bonci, who also serves as director of sports nutrition at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. "They must drink two to three cups an hour before exercise, one to two bottles of water during, and at least three cups of fluid afterwards."

Experts also say it doesn't matter if all those cups are filled with water. Beverages such as juice and milk also count. Although not ideal because they contain caffeine and sugar, coffee and soda can also help you reach your daily fluid intake goals. Alcohol, however, is another story; although technically a liquid, it can cause dehydration and a host of other health problems.

Signs of dehydration

To stay fully hydrated, Bonci suggests keeping a beverage by your side at all times and drinking early and often. If you find you haven't been drinking enough based on what experts recommend, up your intake gradually. Start by adding a cup to your daily regimen during the first week, and then incorporating more as needed. The point is to meet your minimum as soon as you're able, and not to wait until you're thirsty to drink. "If you're already thirsty, you're already behind the eight ball," says Kirby. You'll know you've had enough to drink if your urine is clear or pale yellow.

When the body is not optimally hydrated, all the organs have to work harder, says Bonci. The body tries to create fluids by doing things like breaking down muscle, which isn't ideal.

Signs of severe dehydration, a potentially life-threatening condition, include lethargy, headaches, dry lips, decreased urination, a burning sensation in the stomach, an abnormally fast heart rate, inability to concentrate and fatigue. If you experience any of these symptoms, reach for a sport drink, says Kirby, which will help replenish the water and salt your body needs. If symptoms don't resolve within minutes, though, call your doctor immediately.

than the lemon juice itself. And yes, that's what you've been wasting.
But from now on, by following this simple procedure of freezing the whole
lemon, then grating it on top of your dishes, you can consume all of those nutrients and get even healthier.

The lemon peel is good in making you slim if you are a fat person, or makes you healthy fat if you are skinny.
It is very good that the PYRO-ENERGEN is
also for the taste of all people.

It's also good that lemon peels are health rejuvenators in eradicating toxic elements in the body. ** *

Plants for luck and prosperity

Apart from the abundant red and gold decorations, certain plants have gained a reputation for being essential to ringing in the Lunar New Year. Ascribed special value owing to the good feng shui they purportedly confer their owner, as eco warriors ourselves, we're all for the greening of homes and offices.

Kumquat

Kumquat plants are so common a plant to have every Chinese New Year that it would be odd to visit a Chinese household this time of the year and not come across one! The sound 'Kum' could mean 'mandarin oranges' or 'gold' in Chinese, and so by word association the plant has come to symbolise prosperity, wealth and abundance

Pussy willow

Pussy willow is frequently used to decorate households celebrating Chinese New Year providing the branches upon which to hang red and gold decorations like ang pow packets or gold ingots. As it is a plant that features multiple blossoms, it has come to symbolize abundance, while its soft texture and the colour of its shoots are reminiscent of traditionally prized items in Chinese culture such as silk and jade.

Golden Money Plant
The Golden Money plant got its name from its leaves, which are angular-shaped and look like Chinese gold ingots from ancient times. The plant's thick, fleshy, and naturally glossy leaves are lush denoting abundance, and when the plant flowers, it signifies that the household will receive a windfall. Ker-ching!

Fortune bamboo
The name says it all really. Referred to in Chinese as 'Kai Yun Zhu' which means 'the bamboo that brings in luck and good fortune', it represents the doorway to good luck, fortune, and happiness in a household. Buy your boss one; who knows, it could welcome higher profit margins and land you a raise.

Peach blossom
Peach trees don't grow in Malaysia, but that doesn't mean you can't substitute them with synthetic varieties. The flowers that grow on peach trees symbolise growth and development, longevity and prosperity. In Chinese culture, the bigger the flowers bloom, the better the luck! Wooden swords made for use during Chinese rituals or ceremonies are also made from peach wood as it is believed that the wood wards off evil.

Money Plant
The most popular among plants thought to bring good luck to homes, the verdant money plant symbolises abundance and prosperity and is believed to purify air. It's a hardy plant, able to survive indoors or outdoors. If kept indoors, the money plant would need regular watering and to be placed somewhere well lit or which gets natural sunlight, but generally as it is an easy to care for, it's a common tenant even among those not famed for their green thumb, thus ensuring even the most horticulturally-challenged benefits from good energy.
